Researchers from HASLab received honourable mention award at EICS 2016

José C. Campos, a professor at the University of Minho, and Michael Harrison, both researchers from HASLab/INESC TEC, were awarded an honourable mention in the EICS 2016 conference, for the paper "Modelling information resources and their salience in medical device design", which also counted on the collaboration of Rimvydas Rukšénas and Paul Curzon, researchers from Queen Mary University of London.

The paper describes an interface verification approach that takes into account the influence of the user interface on user behaviour. More specifically, the objective is to support the evaluation and certification process of medical devices to make them safer, and thus reduce the possibility of errors in its use.

This paper received this honourable mention for being considered one of the three best conference papers. In ACM conferences, which is the case of EICS, the honourable mentions are awarded to 5% of the best classified papers. In the 2016 edition, 2 honourable mention awards and 1 best paper award were awarded.

It is worth mentioning that José Campos will be co-chair of EICS 2017, which will take place in Lisbon, in other words, he will be a member of the organisation of that conference.
