José Creissac Campos elected president of IFIP working group

José Creissac Campos, researcher from HASLab/INESC TEC and professor at the University of Minho, was recently elected president of the working group 2.7/13.4 of IFIP, International Federation for Information Processing.

The working group 2.7/13.4 is one of the 101 working groups that make up IFIP, and seeks to advance the state of the art in interactive systems engineering. With regular meetings and collaborations between experts and professionals from various areas involved in the design of interactive systems, the working group is made up of about 30 members. José Creissac Campos is a member of this group since November 2007, and has thus contributed to this group for about nine years.

This working group has a dual affiliation: it is part of Technical Committee 2, dedicated to software theory and practice, and of Technical Committee 13, dedicated to human-computer interaction. It is worth mentioning that IFIP has its 101 working groups organised in 13 technical committees.

IFIP is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation that gathers various organisations worldwide to work in the field of information processing. It was established in 1960 under the auspices of UNESCO as a result of the First World Computer Congress, held in Paris in 1959, and connects more than 3,500 scientists from universities and international companies.
