Ricardo Macedo finishes master’s degree with highest possible grade

Ricardo Macedo, a HASLab researcher, presented last week his master's thesis entitled "Secure Computation over NoSQL Databases", and his work received a grade of 20.

The thesis aims to tackle both privacy and security concerns in cloud infrastructures, applying secure computation techniques over NoSQL databases. It proposes SafeNoSQL, a generic framework for NoSQL databases that provides a modular and extensible architecture supporting configurable security, in order to maximize the system’s performance in multiple applications with different requirements.

Macedo started his master’s degree in September of 2015.  He will be presenting an article at the 36th IEEE International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2017), an international conference classified with A by the well-known CORE ranking. This conference will be held in Hong Kong, China, between the 26th and the 29th of September.

For the student, continuous hard work and dedication were essential to overcome all the challenges presented this year and to improve his skills.
After presenting his article at the SRDS 2017, Ricardo Macedo will join the Computer Science Doctoral Programme.
